The gaming world spent 2023 quite fast. The first productions released in 2024 started to arouse curiosity. Launched on January 19th, Palworld was one of these games. The survival-action game took the top spot on Steam and crashed the servers on the first day.
Players crashed Palworld servers on the first day
Developed by Pocket Pair, Palworld is out now on Steam, Xbox Series X/S and PC Game Pass. The game topped the Steam charts on day one, reaching over 367,000 concurrent players in the first few hours of early access.
Palworld, which ranks fourth on Steam’s Most Played list, is currently in early access. This means that the game is prone to performance issues and server crashes. In fact, the intensity of the first day caused the servers to crash at certain hours.
Pocket Pair acknowledged the server issues in a Twitter announcement, saying that the servers were congested due to “unexpected player numbers”. Players were told that they were working to resolve the issue and after a few hours of downtime, the game returned to normal.
Inspired by Pokemon, Palworld is basically a survival game. In this context, you need to train more than 100 “Pal” (Friends). You can use these Pal’s for tasks such as building, farming and lighting fires. You can also arm them and use them against other players.
