Unreal Engine 5 has been used to remaster classic games for a while now. Concept studies that previously redesigned titles like GTA and Max Payne with Unreal Engine 5 have now taken on Counter-Strike. The popular Counter-Strike Italy map has been overhauled with Unreal Engine 5.
How does the Counter-Strike Italy map look in Unreal Engine 5?
Italy, the iconic map of Counter-Strike, is intriguing with the latest Unreal Engine 5 concept. The map, which has been revamped as part of a concept study, managed to get full points from players with its high-level lighting, textures and atmospheric effects.
The video also sparked discussion about the potential for a UE5 remake of Counter-Strike. Although Counter-Strike 2 was recently updated, it’s worth noting that it’s not a major leap forward in terms of graphical quality.
Other games rumored to be remade with Unreal Engine 5 include Tony Hawk’s Underground and Resident Evil 1. Famous classics like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will also reportedly be made with UE5 by independent developers.
While these concept works are remarkable, it’s important to remember that they are not an official product. So unless studios switch to Unreal Engine 5, it’s unlikely we’ll see remakes of iconic games.
A while ago Deck13, known for action RPGs like The Surge, announced that they will be making their next game with UE5. CD Projekt Red, the producer of this The Witcher series, stated that they are working to use UE5 despite some difficulties.
