Naughty Dog is set to release The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on January 19th. In a recent tweet, the developer detailed the upgrade process for players who own the PlayStation 4 version of the game and offered them the opportunity to experience the game on PlayStation 5 for a nominal fee.

According to Naughty Dog, the upgrade to The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for PS5 comes with a $10 price tag, available exclusively through the PlayStation Store.
The price for the digital upgrade is quoted in US dollars, although the price may vary by country. Players who own a physical copy of the game will need to insert the disk before requesting the remaster, and will need to do so every time they want to play.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered features a number of improvements, including improved graphics with native 4K support and 4K upscaling in performance mode. Naughty Dog has also optimized the game to take advantage of the PS5’s DualSense controller for more immersive gameplay.
A highlight of the remastered version is the introduction of a new roguelike survival mode called No Return. This mode features multiple playable characters navigating through a series of encounters, each offering different rewards.
Encounter types include Assault, Capture, Hold, and Hunt, each offering a variety of challenges for players to overcome. No Return ends with a confrontation with one of six powerful bosses that add extra intensity to the game.
The game also features the addition of three cutscenes, Jackson Dance, Boar Hunt and Sewers, as well as developer commentary providing insight into the development process.
