World-renowned review site Metacritic has compiled a list of the top 20 games released for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One between January 1 and December 31, 2023.
The ranking was based on reviews by professional game critics. Games had to meet the criteria of having at least 7 different reviews to be included in the list.
The thriller Alan Wake 2 took the top spot with 94 points, followed by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition in second place. Further down the list are games like Diablo IV, Resident Evil 4, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Street Fighter 6.

Starfield, Xbox’s highest profile game in 2023, scored 83 points. However, this score was not enough to make it into the top 20.
