Konami announced Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake (now Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater) a while ago and managed to make fans of the series curious. The latest leaks showed that Metal Gear Solid, which debuted 25 years ago, could be a remake.
Alleged remake on the way for Metal Gear Solid
According to new rumors, Konami is working on a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game. A website that has provided accurate leaks in the past has revealed that the company has had the remake in development for several years.
Konami is currently focusing on the recently announced Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. However, the allegations revealed that work on the remake is going on in parallel. Interestingly, sources said that the game is currently only planned for PlayStation 5.
This means it won’t be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox or PC platforms. However, considering that MGS Delta is coming to all platforms, the veracity of this claim has become a matter of debate.
First released in 1998, MGS is one of the key titles in the stealth-action world. It has been on the agenda with remake claims for a while. However, with the lack of official details and MGS Delta entering the development process, the Metal Gear Solid Remake was put on the back burner.
Since then, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 have had various licensing problems. The two games even had to be withdrawn from sale in recent years. Despite this, the game has sold more than 60 million copies through various downloads, spin-offs and remakes.
