Willis Gibson, a 13-year-old boy nicknamed Blue Scuti, managed to finish the classic Tetris game on the original Nintendo NES console. The boy kept playing until the game locked up, becoming the first person in history to do so. You can watch the full video on his YouTube channel.
During the World Championship semi-finals, Gibson broke all previous records in Tetris, including his own. Before that, only artificial intelligence had managed to complete the game to the end. Of course, we’re talking about the kill screen where the game crashes.
“I can’t feel my fingers”
The player nicknamed Blue Scuti took about 38 minutes to finish Tetris. He achieved this feat thanks to a special “rolling” technique and a “hyper-touch” method that allowed him to use the controller faster.
In the published video, we see the boy getting increasingly nervous as he nears the end. After he manages to reach the end of Tetris, the words “Oh my God, yes, I’m going to faint, I can’t feel my fingers, I can’t feel my hands” fall from his lips. Willis Gibson dedicated this achievement to his father, who died in December.
